The Demons Sports Club has supported The Salvation Army Blacktown City Corps by providing funds for its Blacktown Recovery After Care Service (BRACS).
The program provides short-medium-term accommodation to at least 11 families who are trying to re-establish a balanced lifestyle for themselves after recovering from homelessness, refugee status, drug and alcohol dependence, mental illness and other physical disabilities.
The Demons Sports Club supports the project through the Community Development Support Expenditure program, donating a considerable amount of money to keep it going.
BRACS coordinator Bob Rogan said everyone involved in the program was very grateful for the club's support.
"Demons Sports has graciously donated a considerable amount of money through this local grants program and i would really like to thank them for their very generous support," he said.
"We also will be able to help marginalised people to access affordable transport to move house and shift furniture.
"This will also allow us to pick-up and deliver heavy items from our second-hand family store.
"With this sort of generosity from Demons Sports we are able to address some of the needs in our community."
